Dear Migyul,
Tashi Delek ! I wish you a good start into the New Year and
a fulfilling year ahead. I am from Singapore. I am passionate
towards Tibetan and the people from the Himalayan region. I
am interested about the culture, people, way of life and the
community spirit. I would like to support Tsewang Sherpalama
and also Migyul by ordering the CD, “The Simple Monk”
. Please let me know how I can place an order, etc. My prayers
are also with Nepal.
Kind Regards,
Lee Kwang-Boon
Hey Guys,
I really like the idea of having a Himalayan Community Magazine.
Their constructive enhancement towards helping the “Himalayan”
people is decisive and moreover, they are considerate and thoughtful
in most cases other than the issue regarding High School Students.
I think that the Editorial Board and all the respected members
of the “MIGYUL” are paying no
heed to the teenagers studying in Jr. High and High School.
In my opinion, the ideas and views of the students are not given
any significance.
The “Migyul” provides the “Himalayan”
people with vital information on housing and immigration etc..,
but not a single article to help and assure the High School
students that “education is a key to success”. As
the rates of Himalayan students dropping out of high school
is increasing remarkably. I think the well-informed and experienced
members should at least give us guidelines and information on
admission procedures, scholarships, etc. This information are
undoubtedly given to us by the guidance counselors in all high
schools, but more information to help the “Himalayan”
high school students will always be appreciated.
My request to the respected members of the “Migyul”
is that the STUDENTS should play a fundamental role in your
upcoming edition and the students should be given more opportunities
to express themselves through the Migyul magazine. You guys
as elders should be our mentors and encourage and persuade the
younger generations to get more involved in your magazines and
our community .

Dear Editor,
I am extremely impressed by your winter issue which I got through
one of my friends. I can say your magazine is unique and you
have put in so many good ideas in order to bring our Himalayan
brothers and sisters together.
I hope one day your dream will be fulfilled as you have wished
before taking up this thoughtful task. I like to thank you on
behalf of all of us living here in Canada.
Thanks.
Sincerely yours,
Dhundup. Toronto
Tashi Delek,
I must say that you guys are doing a great job, and the magazine
is getting better every issue. If I may, as a reader, I think
it would be great if Migyul covered Miss Tibet event also and
interviewed her too. The website is misstibet.com.
When is the next issue coming up?

Tashi Delek & Namasker to every body,
All you guys are doing a really good job so keep it up. I saw
your magazine & its really very interesting to go through
& get to know about the Sherpa website. But today somebody
needed that website & I thought I would be able to give
it to them through your website, but unfortunate I wasn’t
able to find it. So, if you can link the sherpa website with
Migyul it would be helpful for people like me to seek information
through the website, as a source engine.
Tashi Delek & good luck,

From the editor’s desk:
Thank you for all your views. Migyul is a magazine that
is OURS — by ours, I mean all of us and for any requests,
please email us and we will see how we can work together in
fulfilling some of your requests. In OUR effort, while we as
the editors may be the facilitators, you as our reader has the
responsibility of letting us know what you want to know more
about, what you like or what you don’t like — then
only is this OUR effort complete.
As you will see in this issue, which is almost entirely
for students and parents — we have tried to bridge the
gap between the lack of knowledge in applying to schools and
identifying people who have gone through this phase of college
applications and taking their knowledge and passing it on to
all of you. As I read some of the personal stories, I wish I
had been able to get some of these articles when I applied to
grad school. Mine was a half hearted effort — no direction
and no idea of options and I was lucky to even get into college.
That is another story, but what is most important, as we identified
these people, we have also gotten commitments and assurances
from them that they will be willing to help out our Himalayan
students in their college applications and any queries they
may have.
We also realized early on that some of the issues of the
younger crowd were way beyond our comprehension and luckily
two young girls who want to take this up approached us and this
issue on we will from now on have a youth forum which will be
completely independent and directed by these two- So you, -
young people now have a forum which you have to make use of.
On another note, Migyul is interviewing Miss Tibet for
the next issue so look for it. Finally, your comments are helpful
in shaping how our magazine and our site works so we look forward
to more.
