Tashi delek,
I am an active reader of Migyul and have keen interest in the
Tibetan society. I believe this magazine is a great keystone
into achieving to preserve the Tibetan community here in America.
Recently I have been wondering if I could also contribute an
artwork of mine in Migyul. Please could you let me know as to
how i may be able to do this.
Thank you,
Tashi
Dear Editor,
I received the magazine from a friend; the story about the
single mom touched me the most. I am also a single mom with
a daughter. I know for a fact that it is hard to raise kids
in NYC, because things are just so expensive. See mine is quite
a little different because my daughter’s father is in
her life. He comes to see and pick her up every weekend and
supports her. But I really give it to those single moms who
do everything by themselves; some father’s are just so
deadbeat dads. But girl keep your head up, most of us single
moms do a better job than with the father involved sometimes.
Some dad’s just want to come in and out of the kid’s
life and I personally don’t think it’s fair to the
kids. Like my daughters father has four other kids and I love
them. I would never be like some women who get involved with
men that have kids and then can’t accept them or let them
see their brothers and sister. I feel women like this are naive.
OK, bye until next time.

Dear editors of Migyul,
Thank you for coming out with a community magazine for all
the Himalayan people in New York. I have always wondered why
there is so much disparity between peoples from the Himalayas
as we come from the same stock of people- we have the same values,
wear similar clothes, eat the same food, have similar beliefs
and everything we do is so similar. I am so glad that you guys
are doing this.
I am also thankful to your community articles which help us
in knowing our rights and things to do and not to do. My wife
is a domestic worker and we are planning to go about buying
our small house and the information that you guys have put together
is great and has been very helpful to us.
Keep the good job going.
Best wishes,
Nima Yolmo
Dear Editors,
Thank you for putting together this new magazine for the Himalayan
community. In the previous issues, I have noticed that there
is a lack of articles from other communities from the Himalayas
and is a bit too Tibet-centric. I hope to hear and read more
about the activities of the non-Tibetan communities and some
of their stories in the forthcoming issues.
Best wishes,
Chhiring Lama
Dear Editors of Migyul,
There has definitely been an improvement in the magazine from
the first to third. I am an avid reader of the magazine and
have copies of the magazine that I have read from cover to cover.
The wait between the issues has been excruciating and I always
keep looking forward to the next. You guys are doing a good
job and please keep me in mind for all your events and activities
and your mailing list. I would like to be a part of your voluntary
crew and also take part in any activities that you may organize.
You guys are doing a great job!!!
Wishes,
Sherap
Dear editors of Migyul,
I am glad that the magazine is doing community discussions
and reading through the last discussion, it was interesting
to know how our various communities are spending or not spending
our community funds. Thanks for putting together the discussion
and putting things in perspective not just for our community
leaders but also giving direction to all of us, how our various
communities should go about in planning towards becoming non
profits and looking for funds from outside the community.
Best wishes,
Tashi Dhondup
Dear Editor,
I would like to contribute articles to Migyul and don't know
how to do it. I have read the articles in Migyul word by word
and am amazed by the width of issues that the magazine addresses.
I really liked the article Single Mom and in the first issue
— I really liked the article by Pema Yoko. Congratulations
to Migyul for trying to delve into these social issues which
no other magazine does for our community.
I love you,
Migyul Lakpa Dolma
