Providence

The assignment has two components. Plus photographs.

Compose two written pages, maximum, 1-1/2 spaces. One page of photograph, with captions. The assignment is short. It provides an opportunity to write a beautiful, informed, compelling, succinct, illustrated essay.

1. Based on work over the last thirty years, select a project Providence has successfully accomplished, with the results now contributing to the vitality of the city today.
   1. Decribe the project.
   2. Briefly address how the city met this challenge.
   3. Address how the results contribute to the city today.
   4. Illustrate with one photograph (see below).
2. Select a challenge/opportunity that faces Providence today.
   1. Identify the challenge/opportunity.
   2. Suggest some ways the city can address this challenge/opportunity.
   3. Bring in references as needed.
   4. Illustrate with one photograph (see below).

Photographs

Include two photographs, one for each part.

Adjust your photographs for contrast, definition, color, highlight, shadows, sharpen...so they are compelling.

Resize images to have a maximum 640 pixel dirmension (typically 640x480) so your file is typiclly not more than 500 kb (usually less). Do not simply click the corner of teh image and drag your mouse to 'shrink' the image as the file size will remain the same: large.
