For students not attending the Looking Forward Symposium

  1. What is 'historic preservation' today?
    1. Use a cited definition and/or write your own (citing various sources, as needed).
  2. How do you see historic preservation developing in the future?

    2. Reference and critically assess Looking Forward symposium presentations.
    3. Employ your personal thoughts.

For students attending the Looking Forward Symposium

  1. Employ readings, as well as the presentation and discussions throughout the symposium to inform your essay.
  2. Write a two-page (minimum) essay.
  3. Assess pertinent aspects of the keynote, individual presentations, sessions, and discussion as they inform the future role and work of historic preservation.
