Insight on Site: Context, Continuity and Congrituty
Fall 2008
Philip Marshall
This course will examine specific sites — individual structures,
places, and cultural landscapes — to address the role
of context, congruity and continuity as they come to bear on casual
and intentional change.
The temporal and cultural aspects of past, present and future
— "historic" and "contemorary" —
will provide an added framework to help blur the line between
"new" and "old", conservation and design.
Visiting lectures representing, national, state, city, and community-based agencies and organizations will address current policies, plans and initiatives.
